Named after World War II flying Ace Sir Douglas Bader, the Bader Arms is a great pub to relax, soak up the atmosphere and explore the history of the RAF at Tangmere and this remarkable man's part in the war.

Welcome to The Bader Arms

Now under new ownership and completely refurbished, The Bader Arms in Tangmere is a great place to enjoy a night out.

Only a short walk from the Historic Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, the pub itself contains a host of WWII artefacts and memorabilia collected and preserved over many years by the pub's owner.

The pub has 3 main areas inside: the Douglas Bader Bar, the Spitfire Lounge with it's relaxing real log fire, and the Tangmere Wing function room upstairs. Disabled access to the Tangmere wing will be added shortly.

Outside we also have a lovely beer garden and ample parking for cars and coaches. There is also a regular local bus service (No.55) every 20 minutes which stops outside the pub and is an ideal link to/from Tangmere Aviation Museum.

Local Places of interest:

Goodwood Race/Aerodrome 3 miles approx, Fontwell Race course 3 miles approx, Tangmere Military Aviation Museum 1/2 mile from Pub, Amberly working Museum, Boxgrove priory 1/2 miles, Weald and Downlands open air museum 5 miles, and other attractions within a 10 mile radius.

Bader's Centenary Year

2010 is Douglas Bader's Centenary Year. Had he still been alive, the 21st February 2010 would have been his 100th Birthday!
